Introduction to Telepractice for the SLP: Evaluation and Treatment (EN)

This course is designed as an introduction to teletherapy evaluation and treatment for speech-language pathologists working with either children or adults. This course will cover client factors, privacy concerns, technology considerations, and application of clinical knowledge to this service delivery model. This course is suited to therapists interested in starting their own teletherapy business or working for a teletherapy firm. It includes multiple samples of telepractice in action as a great visual aid for applying the material covered.
Introduction to Telerehabilitation for Clinicians (EN)
The University of Alberta offers the online Introduction to Telerehabilitation for Clinician's, a non-credit course intended for clinicians who are interested in implementing telerehabilitation services within their practice. Within this course, participants will be provided with essential background information on the evidence, policies, guidelines, and technology required to deliver remote care.
Program for Excellence in Telerehabilitation Education and Research (PETER) (EN)
PETER was born out of a recognition of the potential for digital health technologies to transform rehabilitation in British Columbia. The program was initiated in June 2018 through the joint efforts of the schools of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, and Audiology at UBC. PETER has a multi-pronged vision of consolidating telerehabilitation information, training students and clinicians, facilitating research, and bringing together stakeholders to the benefit of all British Columbians through the application of digital health to rehabilitation.
Telerehabilitation 101: Assessment and Treatment Skills for Online Success (EN)
This course is designed to give you a jump-start on evidence-based strategies to assess pain-related distress in order to address pain from a whole person, biopsychosocial perspective. Assess central sensitization, catastrophization, depression, anxiety, and stress, and learn some basic strategies that you can use as a physiotherapist to address these concerns.
TeleRehabilitation for Older Adults: Latest Research, Best Tools and Techniques (EN)
This course addresses how to get started with TeleRehab, what the experts and latest research tell us are the crucial TeleRehab do’s and don’ts, what musculoskeletal assessments work best in a telehealth setting, what treatment protocols have been shown to be the most effective, how to bill for TeleRehab services, and much more.
Tele-Rehabilitation: Demystifying the Use of Technology to Deliver Physical Therapy (EN)
Educate clinicians to the evidence and approaches to perform physical therapy via tele-rehabilitation. The course will cover patient care from evaluation through discharge and a variety of diagnoses. This course is directly related to the practice of physical therapy and is therefore appropriate for the PT and PTA.

The American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation’s (AACVPR) Virtual Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Module Series is a new educational offering that will guide professionals through evidence-based virtual delivery, components of delivery, regulatory considerations, real-world case studies and more. This resource will provide practical hands-on knowledge that can be immediately applied in patient care.
